A bit of insight:
Aivazovsky Waves Podcast Series was launched at the beginning of 2017 with a unique aim. As of this album's release date, on top of being published to over 50 streaming services it is the only podcast in existence whose weekly episodes are provided in truly lossless audio and supplied with complete tracklists. Achieving a full-year run with these parameters was not easy, and many sets had to be rejected in favor of the podcast's primary goal: providing high-quality content.
The roster of artists grew fast, and so an idea started to come into motion regarding an Aivazovsky Waves' VA release that would consist of tracks from aforementioned artists—to sum up the year, and hopefully, kick off a series of annual compilations, which, as conceived, will feature tracks from those who were kind and skilled enough to contribute their sets to Aivazovsky Waves Podcast Series in that particular year.
As with our podcast episodes, the release of this album falls on Monday—the last Monday of 2017. Considering that it is also the day of Christmas, it's rather apt that we celebrate an anniversary by the means of gifting free music. Consequently, you can download this album for free or donate any amount you please, and thus help us cover the hosting of sets recorded by the very artists featured here, as well as forthcoming sets by the others who will join us in the following year, and hopefully, will provide their tracks for the next Aivazovsky Waves VA.
